Crafted in the traditional method from 67% Chardonnay, 27% Pinot Noir and a splash of Pinot Blanc, this wine is made by sparkling-wine specialist Krone on the 300-year-old Twee Jonge Gezellen wine estate in Tulbagh. Look for attractive orange peel, elder blossom and ginger in a taut, steely wine whose subtle toasty and salted-caramel notes will emerge over the next five years. Pair with pad Thai.
