Description

The 2018 Gevrey-Chambertin Village opens in the glass with a deeper-pitched bouquet of red plums, wild berries, peonies, baking chocolate and sweet soil tones. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, textural and nicely concentrated, with powdery tannins, ripe acids and a long, sapid finish. This, too, is showing well. As usual, the communal Gevrey includes fruit from premiers crus Perrières and Etournelles Saint-Jacques. Score - 90-92. (William Kelley, robertparker.com, Jan. 9, 2020)
