Description

The lovely amber colour here is achieved by not topping up the barrels post-fermentation - this is just a long way of saying that the wine is allowed greater contact with oxygen while ageing. This deliberate oxidation also creates the alluring nutty character so prized in these wines. In addition, this wine is sweet and beautifully balanced, offering a complex mesh of toffee, caramel, toast and dried fruits with a deliciously long finish. Awesome. (Vintages panel, April 2012)
