National Beer Day is a holiday celebrated in the United States on April 7th each year. The day commemorates the signing of the Cullen-Harrison Act on March 22, 1933, which legalized the sale of beer with an alcohol content of up to 3.2% by weight. This was the first step towards the repeal of Prohibition, which had banned the production, sale, and transportation of alcoholic beverages in the United States for more than a decade.

On April 7, 1933, President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed the Cullen-Harrison Act into law, allowing people to legally purchase beer for the first time in over a decade. This led to a surge of celebrations across the country, with people gathering in bars, taverns, and breweries to enjoy a cold beer.

Today, National Beer Day is celebrated by beer enthusiasts across the globe with beer tastings, festivals, and other events. It is a day to celebrate the rich history of beer and everything it has to offer to the world!

When something has been around for essentially the entirety of human civilization, that must mean that it has something special about it. With so many varieties to choose from: wheat, barley, rye, and hops, dark or light, sour or bitter, there’s a cold beer for everyone to enjoy on a hot day (or even a warm beer on a cold day!)
