Description

Although loosely built on the notion of barrel aged white Bordeaux, the assemblage of Stratus's top white changes every year. In fact in 2015 chardonnay is the majority, with sauvignon blanc, semillon and viognier filling out the blend. It has a lovely, soft, complex nose of lemon wax, peach, lavender, evergreen from the sauvignon and subtle oak (15% new oak). It is quite full bodied, richly textured, almost creamy with excellent length. Score - 90. (David Lawrason, winealign.com, Oct. 13, 2019)
