Less than 5% of the wines of Vinho Verde achieve 'Superior' status as judged by the independent Vinho Verde Association. This gorgeous blend of Alvarinho and Malvasia Fina opens with flint, citrus and crushed white flower notes on the nose. The palate is nervy and vibrant, tingling with mouthwatering acidity; there is a surprising intensity, with plenty of depth. The flint and citrus continues from the nose to the palate, but there are notes of apricot and peach, ripe pear and a long, petrichor-laced finish. Perfect with grilled sardines or fried smelts in olive oil and garlic, spring salads, or simply enjoyed on its own with good conversation. 92 pts - Robert Parker.
