I was very impressed by the 2016 Torralvo, a classical Ribera del Duero that shows what can be achieved in a vintage like 2016. It combines power and elegance, the oak is nicely integrated, there's ripeness without excess and a mixture of red and black fruit, some spices and Ribera del Duero typicity. The palate reveals concentration and finesse, fine, chalky tannins, very good balance and a notable finish. This has to be one of the finest, if not the finest, Torralvo ever. Bravo! It should develop nicely in bottle. Drink date: 2020-2028. Score - 94. (Luis Gutiérrez, robertparker.com, Dec. 30, 2019)
