Wine of Adam Refosco 2013

***LATE ARRIVAL. PRODUCT NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE.***The 2013 Refosco was aged for 16 months in French oak barrels averaging over three years in age. It comes in at 14.7% alcohol. The 'Adam' here references the town in the region. The oak is a bit prominent up front, but then this resolves into a rather interesting wine at a very reasonable price. Showing good depth, it adds fine structure, tightening quickly on the finish. The tannins are notable but not too hard. There is complexity, too, the grape throwing off beefy nuances. That said, the wood does give this a more generic and creamy feel early on. It also, however, provides some velvet to caress the palate, and the wood does recede to some extent with some air. This should age well for another decade or so, perhaps more. It's a fine value, no matter what. Drink date: 2019-2028. Score - 91. (Mark Squires, robertparker.com, April 30, 2019)
