Lagar de Codegua Mourvèdre 2019

Description

The Santa Adriana block was planted to Mediterranean varieties around 2005. It's located by a stream, and the alluvial soils are very rocky and low in fertility. And those soils give wines with lots of flavor, as is the case of this Codegua. It's 100% monastrell (mourvèdre) and has all of the variety's generous red fruit along with the load of fierce tannins associated with this Mediterranean grape. But there's also a freshness here that runs all throughout the wine, from the nose to the finish, which makes it very easy to drink, especially with some cheeses or sausages. Score - 93.
