Description

Aged in second through fifth use oak, the 2016 Gigondas Terrasses des Dentelles does show hints of baking spices and cedar but balances those with ripe cherry and stone fruit. This blend of 75% Grenache, 22% Syrah and 3% Mourvèdre is full-bodied and tannic, but with the fruit to match. Give it a couple of years in the cellar before enjoying it, as right now the long, velvety finish turns a bit chewy. Drink date: 2020-2030. Score - 95.
