Michele Castellani Cinque Stelle Amarone della Valpolicella Classico 2015

I'm not sure what the political persuasion of Michele Castellani is, but I can't image that it is much fun to have your wine named after a political party. The 2015 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Cinque Stelle shows sweet and cherry liqueur, some toasted nut and bramble too. Grilled herb, black fruit, spice and tar fill the palate, which is sweet and savory at the same time - a great stuffed-mushroom wine. It is tight and structured in the mouth. Like the other wines from this producer, the blend is 70% Corvina, 25% Rondinella and 5% Molinara and those grapes are left to dry for three months, then later aged in barrique and large botte for two years.
