Description

The elegant and expressive 2018 Vertebrado Cabernet Franc blew me away, and I think is the finest vintage of this superb bottling produced so far. It's intensely varietal, very spicy and peppery with gobsmacking balance reminiscent of the finest wines from Chinon in the Loire, and it has the chalky texture and almost salty finish that is making Gualtallary's soils famous. This is riper than previous vintages, but I think it's better. Drink date: 2021-2028. Score - 94. (Luis Gutiérrez, robertparker.com, March 31, 2021)
