Nickel Brook Kentucky Bastard

Description

Nickel Brook matures this stout in Bourbon barrels for an entire year to develop its depth and complexity. It possesses aromas and flavours of raisin, fruit cake, dark fruit, roast coffee and vanilla oak. The long finish has hints of bourbon and dark chocolate. Pair with rich foods like foie gras or dark chocolate truffles.

Tasting Notes

Medium brown colour with creamy head; aromas of spice, coffee/mocha, vanilla and oak, with hints of earth, leather, dark roasted malts and cherry; medium sweet, rich, with a balancing sour note, flavours of raisin, fruit cake, dark fruit, roast coffee and vanilla oak; hints of bourbon and dark chocolate on the long finish

Serving Suggestion

Serve lightly chilled with not-too-sweet, coffee or chocolate based desserts; also pairs well with slow cooked meats or saucy BBQ fare, such as pulled pork.
