The balance between softness, acidity and thick tannin is enjoyed in the smoothness and breadth on the palate. The oxidative integrity and clean wine execution can be felt in the purity and firmness of blackberry in all its vibrant and spicy sparkle. One of the best Italian reds this year, hats off. Tasting Notes

TASTING NOTE: This blend of Sangiovese and Merlot features lots of sweet ripe purple fruit, bramble berry, blackcurrant and mocha. The tannins are quite present, indicating that this will reward time in the cellar. Enjoy it tonight with braised beef or grilled lamb, or lay it down for 3+ years to allow the tannins to soften a bit and then fire up the grill. (Vintages panel, Jan. 2018)
