Among the greatest of Australia's contributions to the wine world is undoubtedly their exciting take on famous Rhône blends, such as those from Châteauneuf-du-Pape. GSM blends of Grenache, Shiraz and Mataro (Mourvèdre) from the Barossa are incredibly popular. This one will deliver the typical bold, spicy, ripe and dense character for which Aussie versions are known. They are also famously velvety and vibrant. Enjoy with grilled meats or hearty winter stews.
Tasting Note: This is a lovely, fragrant, peppery-strawberry scented grenache blend, with silky-firm texture and savoury finish, with minimal wood influence. It's the sort of red I'm happy to drink on myriad occasions, from braised meat dishes to late night sipping. Fine complexity and depth overall. Score - 90.
