Tasting Note: Brilliant ruby. Ripe, expressive red and dark berry, spicecake, pipe tobacco and vanilla scents, along with suggestions of cola and candied flowers. Sweet, expansive and supple, offering sappy blackberry and cherry compote flavors complemented by hints of coconut and allspice. Finishes spicy and long, with smooth tannins building slowly and marrying seamlessly with the wine's juicy fruit. The wine spent two years in a combination of new and used French and American oak barrels, followed by three years in the bottle before release. Drinking window: 2018-2025. Score - 91.
