All of the wines of Tussock Jumper are associated with an animal that reflects the country in which the wine has been made, including a sheep for New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, a koala for Aussie Shiraz, a llama for Chilean Carménère and the rhinoceros for South African Chenin Blanc. These wines are crafted with an eye to creating a benchmark expression of each style from each country. This will be fresh and airy with apple and peach tones, and perfect for fish in a cream sauce.
Tasting Note: The classic South African white wine, Chenin Blanc (once known as Steen), is a native of the Loire Valley. Few places outside of France, South Africa principal among them, can produce premium-quality examples. This one suggests white blossom floral tones with ripe peach, tropical fruit and a spicy underpinning. If you're looking for a crisp, mouthwatering, fun white wine to pair with shrimp, crab or pork chops, this wine is your one-stop shopping spree. (Vintages panel, June 2017)
