Tasting Note: The 2013 Agiorgitiko Reserve (the Nemea Reserve) is an Agiorgitiko aged for 12 months in new French oak. It comes in at 14.5% alcohol. You might swoon for this-and it is a fantastic bargain. Showing finesse in the mid-palate, its texture is also pure velvet. Those features make it very sensual and elegant. It seems concentrated, but subtly-never clumsy or thick. Perfectly balanced, it adds fine fruit and intensity of flavor, finishing with a strawberry nuance, plus a real backbone. The finish lingers and grips the tongue. It has a Burgundian feel to it this year. I don't have them all side-by-side (particularly the super 2010), but right now I would say that this is the best Driopi Reserve yet. Considering this fine producer's reputation, that is saying something. It is far more likely to go up than down, so I am leaning up. You can't go wrong at this price. Drink Date: 2016-2028. Score - 93. (Mark Squires, robertparker.com, June 29, 2016)
