Tasting Note: Petit Verdot is late ripening Bordeaux variety that has done well in this warm Niagara vintage. It pours deep purple-ruby, showing its youth. It has a ripe nose of blueberry/blackberry fruit with violets and PV's distinctive meaty character, in-filled with spicy oak and vanillin. It's surprisingly full bodied, firm, creamy and dense with green and somewhat grating tannin. Quite mineral and almost saline on the finish. The length is excellent. A very impressive wine worth cellaring - best 2020 to 2030. Score - 91. (David Lawrason, winealign.com, April 2016)
