Tasting Note: Slightly broader shoulders in 2013, this Petite Sirah absorbed more new oak ~ 50% French oak in a combination of 400L puncheons and 228L barrique. The wine was racked once and bottled after 20 months. A dark, brooding, and fruit-forward wine suggesting blueberry compote, blackberry, black plum, and black cherry. Plus, there are additional layers of complexity with hints of spice, anise, sassafras, and caramelized sugar. This wine is opulent and lively, while maintaining freshness, combined with dense tannin and robust structure. Just 490 cases were produced. Gold Medal - San Francisco International Wine Competition
