Lena di Mezzo's vineyards are situated entirely on hillside terraces in the areas of Cusotza, Bardolino and Lugana with the classic 'pergola' system in the Valpolicella Classica. The vineyards are rich in volcanic and limestone soils, which impart plush aromatics and smoky notes to this food-friendly and versatile wine. Pair with grilled meats, salumi and cheese, rich pasta dishes or risotto.
Tasting Note: A very pretty nose of dried lavender, rose petals and sweet morello cherries. Medium to full body, lots of tension, fine acidity and a minerally, driven finish. Drink now. Score - 92. (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, Oct. 20, 2017)
