Comprised of Corvina, Rondinella and a dash of Oseleta, this is fashioned using the appassimento technique and sees the harvested grapes dried on mats for one month. This process concentrates the aromas and flavours of the finished wine. You will find this to be a balanced and richly textured wine, with aromas and flavours of smoky dark fruits, plums, tobacco and leather. It will be a fine companion for hearty meat dishes.
Tasting Note: A real bargain here, cellarworthy but also infinitely pleasurable now. Tannins have soften[ed] just enough allowing unencumbered access to the fruit and fleshy mouthfeel. Colour is suprisingly still violet while the palate offers great personality without sweetness or weightiness. Expressive and unadulterated with excellent concentration. Complex notes are beginning to reveal themselves. Very good length with lovely balance and harmony. Lingering finish of tomato leaf, black currant and black licorice. Seductive. Best 2017-2020.
