Tasting Note: The 2011 Chianti Classico Riserva represents a tremendous effort and is a lovely short-term drinking wine. This Riserva (90% Sangiovese with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon that is aged in tonneaux for two years) is teaming with dark fruit nuances, including black cherry and plum with sweet baking spice in a supporting role. The wine is increasingly supple and soft as its warms in the glass. It reveals an upfront and immediate style that makes it a pleasure to drink within the next 3-5 years. The natural succulence of the wine would make a great pairing partner to pork or roasted chicken. Score - 92. (Monica Larner, robertparker.com, Oct. 2015)
