Tasting Note: The Nebbiolo grape of Barolo and Barbaresco fame is seen here in a very different incarnation - although even in such a warm climate, the variety's hallmark acidity shines through and its tannins hold firm. Pretty aromas of cedar, spice, wild berries and cherry introduce a nicely balanced and structured wine that seems to proudly embrace its rusticity. Pair with barbecued meats: in particular, spicy Italian sausages topped with aged Parmigiano-Reggiano. (Vintages panel, July 2016)
