Aromas of dark toasted rye, hints of caramel and nut, subtle burnt edges accented by coffee, and soft mouth finish. Pairs well with grilled steak, spicy pork tenderloin or curry. This Scottish Ale pours a fiery amber-ruby colour with a frothy light beige head. Tastes like tart, sour grains that have been toasted and sweetened with caramel or honey. Wood, light chocolate, cherry and cigar smoke can also be detected. The ale has a toasty, creamy & bready mouthfeel with low carbonation.
Tasting Note: Bright copper colour; aromas of toasted malt, caramel and a touch of spiced nut; medium body, with caramel, coffee and cocoa flavours; a nice hop balance and nutty finish.
