The Tempranillo and Graciano for this wine are sourced from a selection of older vines; the remainder is Garnacha. The percentages are typically 90%, 5% and 5% respectively. Expect this 2009 to be round and generously flavoured with suggestions of red and black cherry with some spice and leather tones. Try it with blackened ribs or grilled steak.
Tasting Note: A perennial favourite at Vintages, this wine is aged for 10 months in French oak. It opens with aromas of blackberry, black plum, currants, balsamic and smoke. The palate is finely structured and offers plenty of dark fruit, smoke, spice and an emerging menthol note towards the finish. Pour it with blackened or smoked meats. (Vintages panel, Sept. 2017)
