Earthquake Zin comes from an old Lodi vineyard planted around the same time as San Francisco's great earthquake of 1906. It's 100% Zinfandel aged 14 months in American oak and made in a big, bold style overflowing with berry fruit and spice. Pair with rib-eye steaks with sage and a dollop of blue cheese, or shake things up and pour it alongside beef saltimbocca with shaved truffles and Asiago.
Tasting Note: Made from old vines in the Lodi region of California, famous for Zin, this towering Californian Zinfandel has big aromas and flavours of purple plums, blueberry and blackberry jam. Very juicy and rich on the palate and finish. Drink: 2017-2022. Score - 91. (Natalie MacLean, nataliemaclean.com, Nov. 25, 2017 )
