Tasting Note: The 2013 Pinot Gris Schimberg comes from a high altitude of 400 meters and was picked very late and with just 15 hectoliter per hectare. Cultivated on sandstone soils, which are covered by volcanic stones and aged in a 90-hectoliter foudre the wine opens very aromatic but delicate on the nose, displaying very fine ripe pip fruit aromas. Rich, piquant, tension-filled and spicy this dense and tightly structured Pinot Gris is powerful but very well balanced and finishes with a nice salinity. In fact all components are in the right place here. Good length, very promising and really dry. Drink Date: 2015-2022. Score - 91. (Stephan Reinhardt, robertparker.com, Sept. 29, 2016)
