Tasting Note: The 2010 Convento San Francisco was quite impressive. Pure Tempranillo fermented in stainless steel, it aged for 15 months in French (70%) and American oak barrels, and yet it's not oaky at all. Of course, the extra time in bottle must have polished the edges and the aromas, and is now starting to show some complexity and tertiary, developed aromas with hints of truffles, mushrooms and decayed leaves over a core of ripe fruit. The palate is medium to full-bodied, with fine-grained, slightly dusty tannins giving it character and an elegant rusticity. 46,763 bottles produced. Drink date: 2015-2018. Score - 91.
