Carmenère, the signature red wine variety of Chile, can produce massively flavourful wines with impressive depth and structure. This one was aged 10 months in French oak barrels. Look for smoky campfire, dark cherry, plum, grilled red pepper and vanilla, and give it a go with beef stew, black bean burritos or chorizo tacos.
Tasting Note: A juicy and fruity wine yet reserved and firm. Tar and licorice. Medium body, firm tannins. Clean finish. Subtle carmenere. Drink now. Score - 90. (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, May 29, 2017)
