Breca Old Vines Garnacha 2013

Winemaking in the Calatayud region of Spain dates back to at least the 2nd century BCE, and the first record of the quality of these wines has been attributed to the Roman historian, Marcus Valerius Martialis, who wrote about them in the 1st century BCE. The vines for this 100% Garnacha were planted between 1925 and 1945, and the complex and layered wine they produce is a remarkable value that punches well above its price point. Look for impressive red fruit and spice notes.
