Tasting Note: This is a blend of Grenache and Syrah, two varieties that do very well in the arid Campo de Borja region. The Grenache ranged from 15-30 years of age, while the Syrah vines are 10 years old. Winemaking here is impacted greatly by the elevation of the vineyards, and the styles of wine can vary dramatically. This one is earthy and big with bold ripe cherry fruit and touches of grilled red pepper. It is very good, but will be even better with braised meat dishes. (Vintages panel, April 2016)
