Tasting Note: The 2008 Baigorri B-70 is a tiny production of around 2,000 bottles, created from the first free-run juice of the must and raised in Allier barrels. It is mainly Tempranillo, although it comes from very old vines that may well have been intermingled with other varieties. It has a well-defined bouquet that is floral and vivacious, with dark cherries, minerals and creme de cassis fruit. The palate is underpinned by very delineated, succulent tannins and unashamedly lush fruit: blackberry, blueberry and cassis. It has a svelte, silky, intense finish that is extremely seductive. This modern-style Rioja will need three to four years bottle age. Drink 2015-2025. Score - 94. (Neal Martin, robertparker.com, Aug. 2012)
