This wine was awarded a Double Gold at the 2015 Sakura Japan Women's Wine Awards.
Tasting Note: Founded in 1922, Aromo is a family-owned-and-operated winery. Their 2013 Private Reserve Carmenère was aged in 70% French and 30% American oak. The resulting wine is round, smooth and approachable with lots of ripe fruit flavour, plus spice, tobacco and mocha undertones. This offers great value and is a fine match for grilled burgers or meat-based stew. (Vintages panel, July 2016)
