Tasting Note: Most albariños we see are from Spain's Rias Baixas region, but this is from across the border in Minho, where the variety is known as alvarinho - different spelling, same pronunciation. This is a very attractive take on the variety (it's 100% alvarinho), with subtle pungency in the aromas that flow through to the palate. There's a lot of well-focused flavour there, and it's supported by clean, fresh acidity. All the components are holding together well, and the wine is drinking beautifully now. Drink it while it's young and fresh. Score - 4.5 Stars (out of 5). (Rod Phillips, Winepointer Newsletter, Nov. 2016)
